Within British Gas, our insight and data teams have been working hard to become at the heart of decision making in British Gas.

Whether it is speech analytics marketing effectiveness, consumer insight or data capability the Insight team at British Gas are leading the way.

Our remit includes the ownership and governance of all data managed within British Gas but that's only part of the story. We strive to use our data to enable the most well informed decisions in the industry. To give you a flavour, here are some of the big ticket items we've been up to recently:


Working with colleagues in Marketing, we've defined a new segmentation strategy which we think will really set us apart from the competitors. We've delivered significant quantitative research and multiple customer engagement events to define and develop our strategy.

Customer value:

Working across British Gas, we've developed an increased level of understanding about what behaviours and attributes drive customer value. The work we've done allows us to develop stronger go-to-market strategies with our Product Development, Marketing and Sales teams.

Enterprise DataWarehouse:

We've recently built and launched a new data universe, helping us to better unify the multiple data streams from various systems and sources. We're using EDW to help deliver a better optimised marketing strategy across the overall British Gas organisation.
