British Gas really value the importance of young people developing soft skills for the workplace. That’s why we have supported over 2200 of our apprentices to achieve their Gold Award and are the Headline Diamond Partners for the DofE’s Skills for Work campaign. Together we are spreading the message that the DofE gives young people work-ready skills.
British Gas work with Plotr to promote a range of opportunities that will appeal to their 11-24 year old audience. We provide information on our company, including facts about our Apprenticeship and Trainee programmes and we provide advice on how to join our British Gas Team.
British Gas is a long-time advocate of Apprenticeships, spending £150 million since 2007 in our training academies, and uses the National Apprenticeship Service as a platform to raise awareness of the benefits that skilled training can bring to both individuals and our business.
British Gas work in partnership with CivvyStreet, helping those in the armed forces find information on career opportunities and provide guidance on how to settle back into civilian life; whether they are coming to the end of their service period or have recently left.
Diversity is important to British Gas, and through working with Stonewall, a charity which works to achieve equality and justice for lesbians, gay men and bisexual people, we are able to engage and promote our brand with people from all walks of life through their Diversity Champions program.
British Gas are committed to supporting forces men and women to find suitable employment when they leave. We work closely with the Careers Transition Partnership to help services leavers find the right job and launch a new career by offering expert advice and guidance.

Remploy help British Gas to promote our opportunities to work-ready disabled people, to help us build a diverse, representative workforce to reflect the communities in which we work.
British Gas partner with Job Centre Plus nationally to promote British Gas vacancies to unemployed jobseekers of all experience and age groups. We do this through hosting regular open days at their local sites and promote all relevant vacancies on their Universal Jobmatch site.
